Work Experience
Since my first job as a young teen washing dishes, to my current position as a wildfire fighter I have held many jobs. Each job different than the last, and each role has given me opportunities to work with new individuals, learn new skills and grow as young man in the work force.
Wildfire FighterWorking for the Ministry of Forests Lands and Natural Resources has allowed me to develop in ways I could not of imagined. Over my 4 seasons with the Stormiders Unit crew I have progressed from a lost rookie into a senior member of the crew and a Danger Tree Faller. This experience has taught me about safety, teamwork, communications, morale, situational awareness, hard work, and commitment to quality.
Log BundlerI spent one summer working at the Duke Point dryland log sort in Nanaimo BC. Here my roll was to wrap large bundles of logs in thick steel wire. From here the logs pushed into the water and floated to their final location. I was operating a small bundling tractor among the very large logging machinery. I learned quickly the importance of communication and safety. The actual bundling of the logs was no breeze either. It required me to unwind and toss the large steel cables over the bundles then and cinch and crimp them, Heavy, hot, loud, work gave me some valuable lessons in working hard while maintaining the safety of myself and crew.

I was also lucky enough to gain skills in teamwork, communication, logistics, microsoft office, coaching event promotion / implmentation.
